Our Story Didn’t Begin Yesterday
Centric Learning was founded by Glen Taylor and Beth Baker with a mission to provide meaningful educational opportunities for students who weren’t thriving in traditional classrooms. What began as an initiative supporting at-risk students in the greater Detroit area has evolved into a comprehensive educational platform serving schools and learners throughout the United States and internationally.
Along the way, we’ve supported more than 141 school districts and over 20,000 students. Today, our Cognia-accredited programs offer more than 1,600 project-based learning experiences across 52 courses, serving students in grades 3–12.
Those aren’t the numbers of a company just getting started. They represent years of experience, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
We’ve Been Addressing Today’s Challenges for Years
Student disengagement, credit recovery, teacher shortages, learning gaps, and the need for personalized instruction may dominate today’s educational conversations, but these challenges aren’t new to Centric Learning.
We’ve spent years helping educators address them through Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Competency-Based Assessment (CBA). Rather than relying on passive videos and multiple-choice assessments, our approach encourages students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and demonstrate genuine mastery.
We didn’t build our platform to follow educational trends. We built it to solve real educational challenges.
And while our experience distinguishes us from newcomers, we haven’t stopped innovating. Our redesigned dashboards, expanded curriculum, and AI Thought Partner demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing educators with meaningful, practical tools.
